Whiteout (2009)

A U.S. vice-marshal (Kate Beckinsale), the only assigned to Antarctica,  the frozen continent, to study a murder within three days before the Antarctic winter. He cross the path of a UN operative (Gabriel Macht), also the investigation of the murder. Looking for the frozen tundra, they discover something more sinister than they ever imagined.

In November 1999 Columbia Pictures feature film rights to the comic book Whiteout by Greg Rucka and Steve Lieber won. An adapted screenplay for the film was written by Jon and Erich Hoebers. The script was written by a male figure who stars opposite the female lead, because the studio is how a large audience, the film that the original construction of two female does not like to draw. In November 2002, the studio put the project in turnaround from a lack of production and the rights were purchased by Universal Studios. The studio cast Reese Witherspoon in Whiteout, which would be included Hoebers wrote the script of the stars. In May 2004 half of the draft script was written, and one driver was still being sought. Eventually changed ownership in the film, Witherspoon detachment of the project.

In October 2006 Whiteout development in Dark Castle Entertainment was scheduled to start production in the coming winter for a release date in the first quarter of 2008. Dominic Sena, a fan of comics since their ‘98 debut, had tried to direct a film rights to acquire, and if the rights of Dark Castle, bought by Sena asked producer Joel Silver, president of the society for which option to direct Whiteout. Signed in February 2007, with Warner Bros. to distribute in the Whiteout, Sena was hired for the film based on the adjusted scenario of Hoebers immediately. The same month Beckinsale was cast in the lead. Production began on March 5, 2007 in Manitoba, with later images, shot in Montreal. A set was also built on the shores of Lake Winnipeg. The film was particularly clear in a world of ice and sun, an unconventional approach to the murder mystery genre. Both the real and fake snow used in the production. The author of the graphic novel, Greg Rucka, welcomed the filming of his source material. Finished filming a few weeks before the Comic-Con in July 2007.
