Vincere (2009) DVDSCR – XviD

This film describes the life of Ida Dalser and Benito Albino Dalser, the mistress and illegitimate child of Benito Mussolini. Mussolini made his first encounter with Ida Dalser in 1907 in Trento, then part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. A few years later in early 1914, when she opened a salon esthetician in this city, she finds haranguing crowds as leader of the Socialist Party local positions advocating peace in the conflict in the bud.

Fascinated by the intensity of the character, she throws herself into his arms and decided to sacrifice everything to help satisfy his personal ambition. It sells all his possessions and gave him money so that the latter, then managing editor of the newspaper referred Socialist Avanti!, Founded in 1914 to his own newspaper, Il Popolo d’Italia, and draw against all expectations, with financial support of France and England at the entrance of Italy into the First World War alongside the Entente Cordiale. On November 11, 1915, Benito Albino fruit born of their union but Mussolini sent to the front and then discharged for injury during exercise by the explosion of a mortar, married civilly with his wife Rachele Guidi official whom he had several children. He then denies Dalser Ida and their son, seeking by every means to silence the truth.

During his rise to power of Il Popolo d’Italia is the spearhead of his fascist propaganda, he interned Ida Dalser who claims to be his first wife and mother of his eldest son. She claims to have physical evidence of their religious union claiming that church records were destroyed. It is placed in a psychiatric hospital Pergine Valsugana then to Venice without ever seeing his son. Ida Dalser eventually die of a stroke in 1937. Benito Albino is assigned a time charge of uncles and aunts, before being removed and placed in Catholic boarding school at the age of 12 years for his education in total secrecy and isolation from his classmates . Raised in a navy school, it also requires to be recognized as the son of his father. He’ll also be interned in an asylum where he died August 26, 1942.

The title Vincere, meaning “defeat” in French, refers to the declaration of war to France and Great Britain by Benito Mussolini June 10, 1940 from the balcony of Palazzo Venezia to the Piazza Venezia in Rome where Mussolini urged the Italian people to war and promises them the victory [2]. The film includes numerous archive documents on the Duce often putting them on stage in a theatrical form or lyric opera, and film clips of major 1910-1920 years as Christus Antamoro Giulio (1916 ) and The Kid (1921) Charlie Chaplin.

The facts in this film are largely based on two trials L’ultimo filo (2000) and La moglie di Mussolini (2005) Marco Zeni and a documentary Rai Tre released in 2005 revealed that more accurately Mussolini had maintained liaison with Ida Dalser and the son born of their union in 1914 that no religious Registry Office or clerical mentions, probably due to their destruction. Mussolini, however, have recognized that child in 1915-1916 and then does everything it can to deny its existence after his marriage with Rachele Guidi.
