The Informant! (2009)

The Informant! is a 2009 film directed by Steven Soderbergh and starring Matt Damon. The film is based on a real incident, which in turn inspired the investigative Informat. The book is written by reporter Kurt Eichenwald.
Mixing different genres like thriller and black comedy, he tells the story of Mark Whitacre biochemist who helps the FBI agent Brian Shepherd in exposing corrupt agency that controls prices on the international market.
The film was shown out of competition at the 66th Venice International Film Festival.
Ivy League Ph.D. Mark Whitacre worked in the 90’s on to Acher Daniels Midland (ADM). He was pivotal in the company but decided to still-FBI agent Brian Shepard to leave him the truth. He admitted that some key executives from ADM (including Whitacre himself) along with other companies had agreed to the price of lysine to increase. To help the FBI, he became an informant. He collected video and audio clips to the white collar crime to the manifestation.
Whitacre received in the period he worked for the FBI, suffer from a bipolar disorder. He stood on the edge of a nervous breakdown and could not pressure. Did the media that he eventually one million $ 9 ADM had stolen from other companies and during the period he worked for the FBI.
