In 2387 Ambassador Spock is on a rescue mission to lead an impending supernova in a black with red material artificially uncreated hole. But before the Vulcans can fulfill its task, it comes to disaster – the sun exploded and destroyed the planet Romulus. Driven by revenge for the death of his family and the destruction of his people, Nero takes on Captain of the Romulan mining vessel Narada, Spock. Unable to free himself from the gravitational field of the black hole to be thrown into the past two ships, which will be created later in an alternate timeline.

154 years previously investigated the Federation starship USS Kelvin inexplicable energy turbulence that preceded the arrival of Narada. Nero attacks the Kelvin, which then must be evacuated. To the rest of the crew, including his wife giving birth to allow the flight to remain on board and ramming George Kirk, a few moments after the birth of his son James Tiberius, the Narada. His sacrifice will save 800 lives. 25 years later, Spock arrives and is suspended by Nero on the planet Delta Vega.

James T. Kirk grows into a rebellious young man. On the occasion of causes to fight with Star Fleet cadet he meets Captain Christopher Pike, who encouraged him to follow the heroic example of his father and to join the fleet. Makes friends at the Starfleet Academy, he in with the grumpy but warm physician, Dr. Leonard McCoy. His attempts to conquer the attractive linguist Uhura to be unsuccessful.

Upon arrival of the Enterprise’s fleet has been destroyed, and the Narada seeks to expand the planet’s core volcano. Given the overwhelming enemy ship, Pike finds himself forced to follow Nero’s invitation to go on the Narada too. He gives the command Spock and Kirk promoted to First Lieutenant. When it Kirk and Sulu manages to sabotage the drill, it’s already too late: Nero fires a projectile with a red material in the borehole, and Vulcan is consumed by the black hole formed in its interior. Only a few thousand Vulcans, including the Council of Elders and Spock’s father Sarek, can be saved, Spock’s mother Amanda Grayson, is not. With the aim of gradually destroying all Federation worlds, Nero takes a course for the Earth and interrogated Pike to get to the command codes for the defense of plants.

After a heated debate over the future strategy Spock Kirk sets out for mutiny on a neighboring planet Vulcan, the world of ice Delta Vega, where this applies to those emanating from the future, Spock, who was the destruction of his home in the sky have to watch powerless. Spock tells Kirk of the ideal friendship between the two of them and explained to him that he absolutely had to be captain of the Enterprise. You go to a Federation outpost on this planet, where they meet Montgomery Scott, who here does involuntary service. Through a clever tactical move, proposed by Pavel Chekov, the Enterprise manages to hide behind Saturn’s moon Titan. After Kirk and Spock have each arranged to beam the two on the Narada, to steal the ship of the old Spock and Captain Pike to liberate. Spock is identified by “his” old spaceship. He destroys the drill, and attracts Nero away from the earth. While Spock is on a collision course with Narada, it will be attacked by the Enterprise under continuous fire. Spock, Kirk and Pike are beamed at the last moment due to the Enterprise. The emitted red matter a black hole created. Kirk has Nero on the rescue of his team, but involves the destruction of the Romulan front with his ship. The Enterprise escapes the destruction by release and ignition of the warp core.

Kirk is promoted to captain of the Enterprise, and thus is the successor of Admiral also transported Pike. Spock, who harbors no intention of leaving Starfleet to help build a volcanic colony, meets his older self. Ambassador Spock tells him that he and Kirk are interdependent, and advised him to follow his feelings, rather than completely the logic of prescribing. Then the younger Spock takes over the post of first officer under Kirk’s command.
