RapidShare is a German company file hosting, currently based in Switzerland, which operates primarily on the Internet. The company belongs to RapidShare AG. RapidShare offers a simple and affordable storage and file delivery over the Internet. RapidShare gives users two modes of operation: free (with more limited both in storage and at discharge), and premium, with fewer limitations, but payment, which downloads a day and has 5 GB (scalable through payment amount). The best thing about this site is that there are free rapidshare movies for downloading on it. There are also free tv series but films are more popular now. Within its sector, is considered one of the largest companies and best service available in a matter of speed and accessibility According to Alexa, now (2008) is ranked number 16 on the list of most visited sites on the Internet.

At home alone was www.rapidshare.de, but in October 2006, began operating in parallel as www.rapidshare.com. While insisting that they were two different companies, both have the same array.
