Man Maid (2008) DVDrip

It is driven by a male romantic comedy about a man (Dempsey) whose dream girl asks him to be her bridesmaid. He agrees in an attempt to win her heart.
Although it is slickly made and just charming enough to our attention, there are not too fresh or new in this formula rom-com, in addition to looking for another way to almost every cliché of the genre are recycled.
After a painful accidental meeting in the university, Tom and Hannah (Dempsey and Monaghan), best friends for 10 years, the follow Tom in a string of the woman, Hanna is building her career possible. But when her job should get her to Scotland for a few weeks to go away, Tom misses her terribly, realizing he would be willing to finally relax. But she returns with a Scottish fiancé (McKidd), who seems to be Mr. Perfect, that is, he is even more than Tom’s stinking rich. And Hannah asks Tom to be her bridesmaid.
Fortunately, Dempsey sympathetic enough for us to watch, even though Tom is a lout. At least Dempsey’s self-conscious enough to play the scenes. And it’s nice to see his interaction with two bands: his friends (Hardison, Messina, Sussman) and the bridesmaids (Philipps, Nelson and Cummings). But it is a shame that not one of the other characters ever developed.
Poor Monaghan has a thankless role weird fluttering around the edge of the film, while McKidd even worse. Veterans like Pollack (as a womanizer Tom’s father) and Quinlan (as Hannah perceptive mother has) nothing to do. All that remains is a half baked set of Meet the Parents-style gags, with Dempsey, a man in the world of a woman and then forced a woman into a man’s world by wearing a micro-mini-kilt for a bit of Highland sports.
Yes, this film is pure fantasy girly, where the rich, the beautiful, well-adjusted, lesson-learned man could be any woman who decides he wants to bring his best friend. Fortunately direction Weiland is sharp and quick enough to see us, just as the script is a real slog, finally, the use of the stereotype that only even more tired than the race to the airport. Sure, it’s good enough for us happy, the public, but that’s it.
