Goosebumps – Return of The Mummy (2009) dvdrip

In “Return Of The Mummy,” Gabe and his uncle are on a dig in Egypt and they unearth a mummy. The only problem is would be that this mummy swore to destroy whoever woke him up. Uh-oh. In “Don’t Wake Mummy,” Jeff just got a mummy (who has that ever happened to?) from his dad but he doesn’t like it. Once the mummy wakes up, Jeff likes it even less.

And in “You Can’t Scare Me!,” Eddie and Hat (Hat? Were the Nineties really that weird?) try to scare their friend by showing him some mud monsters. Then the mud monsters turn out to be real and everyone is in big trouble. Put it all together and it’s three great episodes from some of the cheesiest television out there.

Why are there no special features on this DVD? How in the world did Fox let this happen? Instead of being a DVD release that has, thus far, garnered little press attention, with the addition of some fantastic special features, this could become a true collectors event. They are wasting classic television that a whole bunch of kids watched on these throwaway releases. It’s sad, really.

I still remember watching the episode about mud monsters when I was child. Some of the special effects on this show are just demonstrably ridiculous. Somewhat related to that, how in the world did R.L. Stein manage to come up with all of these ideas? Yeah, a lot of them are simply variations on the same theme, but still, even John Grisham reached a limit after a while. Regardless, this show was enjoyable when I was young and impressionable and it’s a hilarious treat to be able to watch it again.
