Fracture:
Theodore “Ted Crawford (Anthony Hopkins), a rich and talented engineer, discovers his wife Jennifer (Embeth Davidtz), an affair with police detective Rob Nunally (Billy Burke). Crawford proceeds to shoot his wife seriously injured her and he immediately confessed the crime to Nunally on the scene. However, in his indictment, Crawford pulls his confession.He attacks while in a mental duel with rising star deputy prosecutor William “Willy” Beachum (Ryan Gosling), who considers this an open and shut matter and agrees with the test. Beachum is preparing for his transition from criminal law to corporate attorney Wooton & Simms, a well known company, and begins a romantic relationship with his future boss Nikki Gardner (Rosamund Pike). In the hearing, Crawford acts as his own lawyer, who acts as an important tool for the plot of the film – to adapt to a star prosecutor as a supposedly inexperienced party. Crawford that the arrest was made (Nunally) had an affair with his wife and was also during his interrogation. His confession excluded as evidence of the inadmissible because the fruit of the poisonous tree. Beachum discovers that Crawford was not gun used to shoot his wife because it was never fired and not comparable with the shell casings at the scene. Since the house was detained under guard the whole time of the shooting of Crawford, the police baffled.
