Californication (All Seasons)

Californication is about the popular but unproductive writer Hank Moody, who has lived for some time in Los Angeles. It was before the start of the series of action by the filming of his book “God hates us all” known, although he himself does not think much of this film, because his work has been reinterpreted into a Hollywood kitsch, entitled a crazy incidental called love. Although Hank is constantly changing partners, “he mourns after the failure of the relationship with Karen, the mother of his 12-year-old daughter, Becca, in fact his family life.

Karen however, is preparing to marry during the first season with the publisher, Bill and the father of her daughter seems to have closed. Meanwhile, Hank takes a job at Hell-A magazine, not knowing that Bill is the publisher of the magazine. In addition, Hank learns in a bookstore who know lascivious 16-year-old Mia and the couple have a one-night stand, not knowing that she is a minor, and Bill’s daughter.

Recurring themes of the first season are the relations of the persons referred to each other, and Hanks extravagant experience with changing sexual partners, alcohol and drugs. Regularly agent Charlie Runkle is also Hanks, his wife Marcy, and discussed both Charlie’s relationship with secretary Dani, the sadomasochistic elements of implementation.

Toward the end of the first season Hank’s father dies, what he or she is mentally very much. Karen is sleeping with Hank, apparently to console him, but can guess that she still loves her. However, he will travel briefly to attend for some time in his native New York to attend the funeral of his father. After a month, he returned with the encouraging message to Los Angeles to have written a draft of a new book. The work with the working title, “Fucking and beatings” (Fucking and Punching) contains, among other things, the incident with Hank and Mia Mia Shortly after stealing the design and attempts to produce a slightly modified version as their own work. In fact, they can inspire publishers for themselves. Bill, however, fears for his reputation, and forbids his daughter to publish under her name.

In the last episode to marry Karen and Bill. Although Hank still loves Karen, he does not intervene during the ceremony. Instead, it is the drunken billion, which claims that Karen would not love their father. This she does by very frustrated about the fact that her father might not publish “their” permissive work. In the course of their appearance, they also announced that she had slept with Hank, but later takes it back as a joke. The father, who had already sensed something that makes you think, and allows the publication. Mia called Hank and later as a “quit” because it is the fact that the two had sex, have now managed to speak from the world and she was going to publish his book under her name. When Hank go after the wedding ceremony with his daughter wants to go home, but surprisingly jumps Karen in her wedding dress in his Porsche 911 Cabriolet, while Bill tries to catch it.
