9 / 11: Press for Truth follows three of the Jersey Girls (widows become activists following the attacks) and other family members of victims in their search for the truth about the attacks and the government response, which is suspected to hide. The documentary is based on research compiled by Paul Thompson in his book The Terror Timeline, and the site that hosts.

The film focuses primarily on the efforts of the administration of George W. Bush consecutive attacks to prevent the establishment of an independent investigation, and recounts the pressures of families of victims who finally helped create the Committee of Inquiry.

It also explores many other themes including the manipulation of government, including advanced through the testimony of one of the widows that 70% of the questions asked at the inquiry remain unanswered.
