9 is an animated film of science fiction and fantasy scheduled to debut in September 2009. The film is directed by Shane Acker, produced by Tim Burton and Timur Bekmambetov and based on the movie of the same name produced by Acker and nominated for Oscar for best animated short in 2005. The film is produced in computer animation, however, a style that resembles an animated stop-motion, that Tim Burton has described as “hauntingly beautiful.”

The soundtrack is composed by Danny Elfman, Burton’s traditional titles, and art direction will be for the account of Christophe Vacher. In the U.S., the film was rated PG-13 (equivalent to 13 years) because of violence and frightening images.
